Quality Area 6 - Collaborative partnerships with families and communities. 6.2.3 - Community Engagement- The service builds real and engages with the community. Dental for Tiny Teeth engages in a collaborative partnership with your service to enhance children's learning, health and wellbeing.
We are based on the Early Years Learning Framework. Dental for Tiny Teeth will teach children about oral hygiene. We offer interactive and educational sessions to teach children about proper oral hygiene and the importance of taking care of their teeth. These fun and informative sessions can instill healthy habits and motivate children to be more proactive about their oral health.
Children often feel more comfortable in familiar environments like their regular childcare setting. By having a dental visit where children feel at ease, dental appointments are generally a more positive experience and this contributes to a lifetime of good oral health habits.
With Dental for Tiny Teeth, preventative dental services become more accessible to children and their parents. We come directly to the childcare centre, eliminating the need for parents to take time off work or arrange transportation to a dental clinic. This convenience encourages regular dental check-ups and ensures that children receive timely oral care.
We are a team of oral health professionals that are passionate about oral health in children and want to provide education to young children and their parents about maintaining oral health. We provide on-site care for children in their comfortable environment.
Our health care practitioners are AHPRA registered and have a current working with children check. They have current indemnity and public liability insurance.
As our service is mobile, we need an area in your centre which will allow us to set up a chair and a small table for all our materials. We set up and pack up and take all our rubbish with us.
Our talk will take 20 mins per group and the check-ups will take around 10 mins per child.
I have completed research in parents’ knowledge of oral health behaviours of young children. I know how this initiative will be helpful for parents because introducing good oral health behaviours early will lay the foundation of lifetime of healthy smiles.
I would recommend our team visits bi-yearly. This allows the child to be familiar and comfortable with our setup. Through incorporating our program into your early childhood curriculum, you are significantly contributing to the overall health of the child.
We provide a service to your early childhood centre where we come and provide an educational talk discussing teeth, tooth eruption, brushing technique and food choices. The talks are tailored to each age range.
